Firstpoint is nominated for SME Business of the Year at the BristolLive Business Awards 2022

On Thursday 24 November the Firstpoint team attended the BristolLive Business Awards, where we were shortlisted as SME Business of the Year and sponsored the Your Local Business Hero award. It was a fantastic evening, and now the results are in…

In the SME Business of the Year category the judges were looking for a profitable, growing business, of up to 150 employees, that has had a positive impact on the region’s economy. We had hoped that our year-on-year growth and significant growth potential, alongside the expansion of our operational representation and global presence, as well as plans to open more strategic locations over the next five years to increase our nationwide representation, would secure us the top spot. But it wasn’t to be.

So while the continued efforts of our brilliant team do mean that even more SMEs can benefit from our simple delivery solutions, excellent customer service and commitment to offsetting the environmental impact of our work, unfortunately we didn’t walk away with the win this time.

“The Firstpoint team is over the moon at being recognised for all the hard work that got us onto the shortlist for this award,” said Chris Standeven, our MD. “As the team grows, so too does the camaraderie and, regardless of the result, events like this really add to what is already a supercharged engine ready for growth over the coming years.”

We were also very proud to be sponsoring the Your Local Business Hero award. Our core values are based on ‘doing the right thing’, ‘being in it together’ and ‘enjoying the journey’ – so we felt a real affinity with this award, which celebrates the hard work and dedication of a local individual. All of the nominees have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on themselves and their local community and we would like to say a huge congratulations to the winner, Jake Hitchcock. He scooped the prize for delivering mass fundraising events which raised a huge amount of money to support thousands of children in Bristol through the charity, Community of Purpose. A truly heroic contribution.

Congratulations to all of the shortlisted and winning businesses this year. It was a real privilege to be considered alongside such an eclectic mix of brilliant, Bristol-based businesses.

Wishing everyone involved every success in the new year, and maybe see you at the 2023 awards!
